This was the hardest part of the my website. Finding information about the 1974 Dodge
Charger is pretty rare and so there are still some pieces missing. I hope you still enjoy
the information I do have and come and check in frequently, because I am still looking for
the information.
History
1974 was going to be the last year the classic Charger was going to be produced. All
this was going to happen, because people lost interest in luxurious and performance cars.
The emission tests had already kicked in and were reducing the power on the engines. This
was going to be the end for the Charger. After 1974 the Charger was still going to be
produced but only as a luxury car. The 1974 had a couple of new features. The hood changed
and had no vents, while the 1973 Dodge Charger had two on the hood. Also the 1974 Dodge
Charger had the bumperettes. In the late 1973 production year there was a chrome spacer
introduced which was carried in to the model year of 1974.
